What time does the US stock market open in India?
The NYSE and Nasdaq open at 8:00 pm IST and close at 2:30 am IST from 1 November 2026 to 13 March 2027, while US clocks are on standard time. From 14 March 2027, when US clocks go forward, they open at 7:00 pm IST and close at 1:30 am IST.
Why does the US market time in India change twice a year?
India does not change its clocks, but the US does: clocks go forward on the second Sunday of March and back on the first Sunday of November. The US market always opens at 9:30 am New York time, so in India it opens an hour earlier in the US summer and an hour later in the US winter.
What are the US pre-market hours in IST?
Pre-market trading runs from 4:00 am to 9:30 am New York time: 2:30 pm – 8:00 pm IST during US standard time and 1:30 pm – 7:00 pm IST during US daylight time. Liquidity is lower than in the regular session and many brokers allow only limit orders.

Yes. The Dow Jones, S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite are indices of shares traded on the NYSE and Nasdaq, so they move during the same regular session: 8:00 pm – 2:30 am IST in the US winter and 7:00 pm – 1:30 am IST in the US summer.
Is Nasdaq moving to 23-hour trading?
Nasdaq plans to add an overnight session from 9:00 pm to 4:00 am New York time (7:30 am – 2:30 pm IST in the US winter) from 6 December 2026. The regular 9:30 am to 4:00 pm session does not change. We will update this page when the new session starts.
